Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and best wishes for a successful 2009 from your Salford Conservative Councillors and everyone involved with the City of Salford Conservative Federation!

Thank You For Voting No!

Residents across Salford led the way in rejecting Labour’s £1200 per annum congestion charge tax.

Labour’s Congestion Charge was decisively rejected in all ten Greater Manchester boroughs. Residents in the City of Salford dealt the plans their most comprehensive defeat, with over 84% of voters voting to reject the proposals.

Councillor Iain Lindley, Deputy Chairman of Salford Conservatives, said:

“I am delighted that local residents have decisively rejected Labour’s Congestion Charge tax proposals. Residents across Salford would have been forced to pay up to £1200 per year to use their car and yet would have received little transport improvement in return”

Thank you to all the local residents who voted no in the referendum!

Don’t Forget To Vote!

There’s less than a week to make your voice heard on Labour’s Congestion Charge Tax. Local residents are set to be charged up to £1200 if the C-Charge plans are given the go-ahead - without any real improvement in local public transport.

You should already have received your ballot paper. If you have not had a voting pack call the voting helpline on 0800 783 9828.

Ballots must reach the Returning Officer by 10pm on 11th December, so make sure you post yours as soon as possible. On Thursday 11th December only you can hand your ballot paper in at the libraries at Walkden, Eccles, Irlam, Broughton and Broadwalk between 7am and 10pm.

If you have already voted, thank you for voting!
