For too long, residents in Salford have been taken for granted and ignored by the Labour Party. On May 6th, you have a chance to change that. Residents in Salford desperately need MPs and a Council that will listen to them and stand up for local interests.
Your Conservative Parliamentary candidates Cllr Iain Lindley (Worsley & Eccles South), Matthew Sephton (Salford & Eccles) and James Edsberg (Blackley & Broughton) are working on your behalf alongside excellent local Council candidates.
This is the most important election in a generation. Local people have a real chance to vote for real change. We can’t afford five more years of Gordon Brown’s waste, failure and debt. Only the modern Conservative Party is listening to local residents here in Salford - it’s time for change!
Your Conservative Prospective MPs Iain Lindley and Matthew Sephton today launched locally the Conservative billboard poster campaign featuring Party leader David Cameron.
The poster features the Conservative pledge to sort out Labour’s debt crisis, whilst committing to support vital front line public services, and in particular the National Health Service.
Councillor Iain Lindley, Prospective Conservative MP for Worsley & Eccles South, said:
“Labour have let local residents across Salford down - we can’t go on like this. Local residents across Salford need a fresh start, and the country desperately needs change to get back on its feet.”
Matthew Sephton, Prospective Conservative MP for Salford & Eccles, said:
“Local people in Salford need a Parliamentary team who are prepared to listen to local concerns, and Britain needs a strong, modern Prime Minister leading a united government. They can only get that with local Conservatives working hard for Salford, and with David Cameron leading a strong new Conservative Government.”
Councillor Iain Lindley, Prospective Conservative MP for Worsley & Eccles South, has welcomed the launch of the Conservative health manifesto, which reaffirms the Party’s commitment to the future of NHS services, and in particular maternity services, in Salford.
Party leader David Cameron has announced that under a future Conservative Government, mothers will have a real choice over where to have their baby, with NHS funding following their choices. Conservatives will also introduce local ‘maternity networks’ to ensure that mothers can safely access the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
Reacting to the announcement, Cllr Lindley said:
“David Cameron has shown real commitment to the NHS here in Salford. It is clear that under these proposals, under a future Conservative Government, the maternity unit at Salford Royal Hospital could and would be kept open if the demand existed from the local community, and I firmly believe that will be the case. Labour are pressing ahead with their decision to close the Maternity and Neo-Natal Units at Salford Royal Hospital, and local residents have a real choice when they come to vote at the election.”
“I’m also pleased that under the new Conservative plans for a health premium, NHS resources for the City of Salford will be significantly higher, providing that Salford City Council and our Primary Care Trust spend those resources effectively”
